Collection: Deepen Your Spiritual Journey with a Shungite Mala Beads Necklace
What is a Mala Beads Necklace?
A mala bead necklace (or Buddhist bead necklace) is a string of beads traditionally used to count mantras while meditating. One mantra (prayer) is recited as your finger moves along each bead.
A mala necklace can also be worn to align one with their spiritual journey.
Mala bead necklaces, sometimes called prayer beads, are loaded with symbolism. For example, malas traditionally have 108 beads because 108 is a sacred number in many world cultures and traditions, including Hinduism and Buddhism.
In this collection, you will find malas with shungite beads and others without, some with the traditional tassel and others with a medallion or crystal instead. All are mindfully handcrafted and one-of-a-kind.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know this is genuine shungite?
We source our shungite only from reliable sources in Karelia, Russia with whom we’ve had outstanding long-term business relationships. Every batch is tested for authenticity.
Why does my shungite to have little gold specs and lines in it?
Shungite is made of literally dozens of minerals and elements, such as quartz and pyrite. These often appear as gold or white dots, specs, lines, etc. and are completely normal. In fact, it's rare to see plain black or gray shungite. In when used in jewelry, these inclusions can get shinier with wear.
Is it normal for my shungite to shed black powder?
Yes! This is completely normal and is usually temporary. A solid stone can be rinsed in water, which often helps the shedding.
How do I care for my shungite?
Shungite does not require much care. If a solid piece of shungite is dusty or soiled, it can be rinsed under water and wiped dry, or just cleaned with a soft cloth. Shungite is a very soft stone so will scratch easily.
Can shungite get wet?
Shungite stone itself can get wet, but it is best to keep shungite jewelry dry to extend the life as much as possible. Leather and various metal findings are adversely affected by repeated exposures to water.
