Who knows better than plants when it comes to fighting off insect marauders?
If we're smart, we'll harness the tools that the plants have been perfecting for millennia. That's what I have attempted to do with this product!
This is a natural bug spray that actually works - with an organic blend of essential oils that helps repel insects naturally. It smells pretty nice - unless you're a bug, and then it smells downright nasty!
No DEET. No harsh chemicals or petroleum products. Just plant compounds in a special combination that bugs will mostly hate.
It comes in a 4-ounce glass bottle with a sprayer attached.

I have added a natural dispersing agent but it is still best to shake it well before each use. For optimal results, apply every 1-2 hours, although you will find that protection likely lasts longer. Safe to spray on skin and hair.
How Buzz-Off Was Formulated
To come up with this formula, I started with the findings of a 2023 study published in Nature Scientific Reports in which scientists tested the repellent efficacy of 20 different natural plant oils against common mosquito and tick species using an "arm-in-cage assay."

When I had a satisfactory blend, I recruited a few friends who spend a lot of time outdoors. One person who is typically found quite tasty by mosquitoes was completely avoided by them when using this spray. Same results for other insects, such as gnats - which were out in abundance.
*Please note that many factors can affect the effectiveness of any insect repellent such as individual variations in body chemistry, diet, physical activity, perspiration or water exposure, local climate, weather and numerous other factors.
The best way to keep insects away from exposed skin is to wear light-colored long-sleeved shirts, long pants and socks.
Precautions
- Keep away from young children and pets
- For young children or those with sensitive skin, it is recommended that you do a patch test before using. If you have any questions, check with your health care provider
- We recommend consulting your health care provider before using this product on an infant or young toddler
- When applying to children, have adults do the applying and do not apply to children's hands
- If you are pregnant or have any health concerns please discuss the use of any product with your health care provider
- Any new product may cause allergic skin reactions, so a patch test is always a good idea
- Avoid contact with eyes; in case of eye contact, wash eyes with plenty of water
- If traveling, refer to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommendations for bug protection
- If you venture into areas with high mosquito populations such as remote wooded areas, tropical climates, etc., the CDC recommends repellents that contain ingredients such as DEET or Picaridin
For external use only. If skin irritation occurs, wash area with soap and water and discontinue use. In case of eye contact, rinse eyes with plenty of water.

Shipping
We make every attempt to ship orders out in a timely manner. In most cases, we will get your order out in 1-2 business days.
Once your package is in the hands of the shipper, it is out of our hands. If you have provided an email address, you will receive tracking updates. We only have access to the same tracking information as you.
If there is a problem with your delivery, the most expedient way to resolve it is to contact your local US Post Office or other shipper (UPS, Fedex, etc), to inquire as to the whereabouts of your package.
We do ship internationally to select countries. There are import and export restrictions that prohibit certain items, so we cannot ship to all countries.
In addition to shipping costs, please be aware that taxes and fees vary by country and can be quite substantial. There are taxes, duties, and even customs "brokerage fees" charged by certain shippers, such as UPS and FedEx.
When you complete an international purchase from Shungite Queen, you will be able to see the expected charges for taxes, duties, customs, and brokerage fees before completing your purchase, so there will be no unexpected surprises upon delivery.
Damaged or Defective Goods
Please inspect your order upon receiving it. Contact us immediately if the item is damaged or defective, or if you received the wrong item. This happens rarely, but we will always strive to make it right!
Returns & Exchanges
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return or exchange.
To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, and in its original packaging.

Exceptions/Non-Returnable Items
Certain types of items cannot be refunded such as custom products or special orders. If you wish to return a custom item, it may be eligible for a partial refund, so please get in touch with us with your specific questions or concerns.
When ordering custom jewelry, make sure to measure carefully per the instructions provided so we will get it right the first time. Necklace lengths, wrist sizes, etc. We always welcome questions about size and fit prior to ordering!
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items, apothecary products, or gift cards.
Refunds
A refund will be issued once we have received and inspected your return. If approved, we will notify you and issue the refund on your original payment method. Please keep in mind it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund - typically a few days.
