This chest rub is a penetrating yet pleasantly fragrant balm that is absorbed through the skin and airways.
This chest rub contains the whole raw pine resin (pine pitch) harvested sustainably from trees in Ontario, Canada - not just the synthetic compounds found in most commercial products.
This natural oleoresin contains a broad range of healing botanical compounds. Spruce, pine and fir have been used as traditional medicine for hundreds if not thousands of years across a wide range of cultures in the northern Hemisphere.
The aromatic oils in pine are traditionally used to open the airways. The resin can be harvested sustainably year-round.
Most of us can remember someone slathering Vicks VapoRub on our chests as children, and how the aroma helped us breathe a little easier when we were sick. Same idea here - but for those who prefer a more natural ingredient profile.
I have included a table comparing my ingredients with Vicks, in the images, for those you would like a comparison.
How It's Made
I start with the raw - incredibly gooey and sticky - pine resin (see photo). I combine that with organic sesame oil (for maximum penetration) in a Mason jar, and allow it to slowly infuse in a warm water bath on the stove for several hours.
Once it is completely melted, I strain it to remove the insoluble fraction of the resin, as well as little bits of pine bark. To the strained pine-oil blend all of the other ingredients are added. What results is a lovely, smooth, aromatic ointment that is soft and melts easily into the skin!
Be sure to wash your hands after applying it, as it can be irritating to the eyes and other sensitive body parts.

Shipping
We make every attempt to ship orders out in a timely manner. In most cases, we will get your order out in 1-2 business days.
Once your package is in the hands of the shipper, it is out of our hands. If you have provided an email address, you will receive tracking updates. We only have access to the same tracking information as you.
If there is a problem with your delivery, the most expedient way to resolve it is to contact your local US Post Office or other shipper (UPS, Fedex, etc), to inquire as to the whereabouts of your package.
We do ship internationally to select countries. There are import and export restrictions that prohibit certain items, so we cannot ship to all countries.
In addition to shipping costs, please be aware that taxes and fees vary by country and can be quite substantial. There are taxes, duties, and even customs "brokerage fees" charged by certain shippers, such as UPS and FedEx.
When you complete an international purchase from Shungite Queen, you will be able to see the expected charges for taxes, duties, customs, and brokerage fees before completing your purchase, so there will be no unexpected surprises upon delivery.
Damaged or Defective Goods
Please inspect your order upon receiving it. Contact us immediately if the item is damaged or defective, or if you received the wrong item. This happens rarely, but we will always strive to make it right!
Returns & Exchanges
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return or exchange.
To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, and in its original packaging.
To discuss a return or exchange, please contact us at the email below and we will respond within 24 hours about what to do next.
Exceptions/Non-Returnable Items
Certain types of items cannot be refunded such as custom products or special orders. If you wish to return a custom item, it may be eligible for a partial refund, so please get in touch with us with your specific questions or concerns.
When ordering custom jewelry, make sure to measure carefully per the instructions provided so we will get it right the first time. Necklace lengths, wrist sizes, etc. We always welcome questions about size and fit prior to ordering!
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items, apothecary products, or gift cards.
Refunds
A refund will be issued once we have received and inspected your return. If approved, we will notify you and issue the refund on your original payment method. Please keep in mind it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund - typically a few days.

🌿 How are these apothecary products made?
These apothecary products are made in small batches with fresh herbs and oils, pure and chemical free. Many of the herbs are grown in my own organic garden, and others are sourced from local growers. All are handmade using the strictest quality and ethical standards. I am very selective about every single ingredient that goes into these special formulations.
🌿 What sets these apothecary products apart?
Literally every detail! Attention is paid to every ingredient and phase of the process to maximize the potency of these oils, creams and other products. For example, I use a two-phase herbal extraction process for my whole herb oils that breaks down the cell wall of the herbs, resulting in a far more concentrated product than you will find elsewhere.
🌿 Are these products organic?
I do not have organic certification but I use certified organic or biodynamically grown ingredients in all my products, whenever possible. Some suppliers are not certified but fully implementing organic or biodynamic practices. I support those who practice fair trade and sustainability.
🌿 Are herbal products safe?
Yes, topical herbal products are generally very safe. That said, it's always wise to take precautions. Any person can experience skin sensitivity or an allergic reaction to anything, at any time. When starting a new product, always perform a patch test on a small area of skin, like the inner elbow, and wait 24 hours before applying more widely.
🌿 Why is there an apothecary in a shungite store?
As a nurse, I have always believed that health and wellness requires a multifaceted approach - there is no magic bullet. We should all be avoiding chemical laden products if we hope to overcome any health challenge - be it electrohypersensitivity or something else. My passion for herbal medicine led to my desire to share these special formulations with the world.
