This frankincense hydrosol is distilled by the same company that makes the extraordinary boswellic acid extract used in my frankincense resin oil and salve.
Because their distillation process is so superior - and because they use the same sustainably-sourced grade A frankincense resin to make this hydrosol - its quality is unmatched, so I just had to make it available to you!
What is a Hydrosol?
Hydrosols are the product of the distillation of plant material - fresh leaves, fruits, flowers, and other plant matter. In this case, it's a resin.
The hydrosol is an "aromatic water" with similar properties to frankincense essential oil, although far less concentrated. Hydrosols typically capture a small amount of essential oil.
The aroma of a hydrosol is usually similar to its essential oil, but often with a greener note when it is made from the water soluble constituents of the plant, which are not present in the essential oil.
However, with this frankincense hydrosol there is no plant material other than pure 100 percent grade A resin - meaning, it is devoid of all tree bark, leaves, etc. That's what makes it "Grade A." This results in a deeper, more robust frankincense aroma both in this hydrosol and the essential oil that they produce.
Frankincense is known for its fresh woodsy, balsamic and slightly lemony notes, which definitely come through in this outstanding hydrosol!
Suggestions for Use
Frankincense is one of the oldest and most traditionally used incenses in the world due to its profound physical and emotional effects, particularly its grounding and soothing properties. That is why the aroma of frankincense has been used for centuries to help people during times of stress - to help restore a sense of balance.
Here are a few suggestions on how frankincense hydrosol can be used:
- Stress Reduction: Mist it onto your face for a calming, relaxing reboot when feeling stressed or emotionally off-kilter.
- Facial Toner: Frankincense hydrosol also makes an excellent facial toner! You can mist it on or apply it with a cotton ball.
- Soothing Skin Irritations: It can be applied to any skin irritation; it's safe and gentle enough for use on children and sensitive-skinned people. Try it for bug bites, sunburn, minor cuts and scrapes, diaper rash, heat rash, dry skin, and any other skin issues. It's even used traditionally as an insect repellent!

Preservation and Shelf Life
Hydrosols are water-based, therefore have a shorter shelf life than oils. That being said, frankincense is naturally antimicrobial so it has this going for it!
The shelf life is about a year provided you keep it in a cool place away from sunlight.
For optimal preservation, I recommend storing it in the refrigerator. If you have a larger bottle, you can keep that in the fridge and use it to refill a smaller bottle, kept in a more convenient place. A refrigerated bottle should last for years.

Shipping
We make every attempt to ship orders out in a timely manner. In most cases, we will get your order out in 1-2 business days.
Once your package is in the hands of the shipper, it is out of our hands. If you have provided an email address, you will receive tracking updates. We only have access to the same tracking information as you.
If there is a problem with your delivery, the most expedient way to resolve it is to contact your local US Post Office or other shipper (UPS, Fedex, etc), to inquire as to the whereabouts of your package.
We do ship internationally to select countries. There are import and export restrictions that prohibit certain items, so we cannot ship to all countries.
In addition to shipping costs, please be aware that taxes and fees vary by country and can be quite substantial. There are taxes, duties, and even customs "brokerage fees" charged by certain shippers, such as UPS and FedEx.
When you complete an international purchase from Shungite Queen, you will be able to see the expected charges for taxes, duties, customs, and brokerage fees before completing your purchase, so there will be no unexpected surprises upon delivery.
Damaged or Defective Goods
Please inspect your order upon receiving it. Contact us immediately if the item is damaged or defective, or if you received the wrong item. This happens rarely, but we will always strive to make it right!
Returns & Exchanges
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return or exchange.
To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, and in its original packaging.

Exceptions/Non-Returnable Items
Certain types of items cannot be refunded such as custom products or special orders. If you wish to return a custom item, it may be eligible for a partial refund, so please get in touch with us with your specific questions or concerns.
When ordering custom jewelry, make sure to measure carefully per the instructions provided so we will get it right the first time. Necklace lengths, wrist sizes, etc. We always welcome questions about size and fit prior to ordering!
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items, apothecary products, or gift cards.
Refunds
A refund will be issued once we have received and inspected your return. If approved, we will notify you and issue the refund on your original payment method. Please keep in mind it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund - typically a few days.
